Our Journey
Edward James Salons began with a simple belief — great hair should feel effortless, luxurious, and uniquely you. For me, hairdressing has always been about craftsmanship, individuality, and the confidence that comes from hair that truly works for you.
My passion started young. As a teenager with textured hair, I was constantly experimenting — styling my own hair and my mum’s — discovering how the right cut and colour could transform not just hair, but confidence too.
My career took me from London’s top salons to backstage at Fashion Weeks, working on editorial shoots and collaborating with iconic fashion houses including Chanel, Tom Ford, and Stella McCartney. It was here I refined my craft — blending creativity with technical precision.
In 2011, I opened my first salon on Northcote Road, bringing together everything I love about high fashion, trend forecasting, and hair that moves beautifully in the real world. Today, with salons in Balham, Putney, Richmond, and Northcote Road, we’ve grown thanks to our loyal clients, who trust us to deliver exceptional hair alongside a wonderful experience every time.
For me, beautiful hair starts with healthy hair. Every service — from lived-in blondes to glossy brunettes and bold statement looks — is designed to enhance your hair’s natural condition, so it looks incredible long after you leave the salon.
And because true luxury should respect the planet, we choose responsibly sourced products and weave reclaimed materials into our salon design — sustainability is part of everything we do.
