Brunettes
Whether you are a dark and rich brunette, a cool brunette or a sun-kissed brunette, we have designed our colour menu so that you can achieve and maintain the perfect shade.
CLASSIC HIGHLIGHTS AND MICROLIGHTS
These techniques allow us to add multiple shimmering tones to your hair through the process of classic highlighting and super-fine applications of highlights for a soft, natural colour. The results can be as bold or as subtle as you want, and your stylist will discuss how you can maintain your look between salon visits. For understated, luxurious tones that do not show obvious regrowth, microlights allow us to add sparkle to your hair, targeting it where you would naturally see lighter tones around the face, mid-lengths and ends of the hair.
BALAYAGE
This freehand colour painting technique is designed to create a blended natural colour with no harsh or obvious regrowth. The technique is also incredible for building up multiple tones on brunettes from root to tip, so that the ends have a brighter feel that you would expect to see on sun-kissed hair. Partial balayage applications can be combined with classic-foiling if you are looking for a bigger colour transformation on the mid-lengths and ends, and can deliver the colour you are looking for in fewer visits to the salon.
SINGLE COLOUR APPLICATIONS
Single colour applications will work with your natural tones, to create beautiful tone-on-tone colour. Aveda’s new demi-permanent colour uses the most up-to-the-minute technology to blend grey hair, gloss your existing hair or add more depth to your brunette tresses.
BRUNETTE MAINTENANCE
We have designed colour maintenance services specifically for brunettes to ensure that you get the longest possible time out of your colour. These services are designed as fast applications to extend the life of your colour and minimise visible regrowth.
Hairline tinting is fantastic for maintenance if you struggle to hide grey regrowth that is immediately visible on the hairline. We would normally recommend this service up a maximum of three weeks after your initial colour service for the desired result.
Toning and Glossing adds pigments back into the hair to return it to the desired tone. If your hair picks up unwanted red tones, glossing the hair will neutralise unwanted brassy tones and add shine. The natural ingredients in Aveda’s glosses will add shimmer and lustre to your hair and close the cuticle to make it feel incredible afterwards.
Reds & Copper
Creating the perfect red is an art, and often it is the subtle shades of auburn, titian and golden reds that require a skilled colourist. We have created a separate menu for reds specifically for this reason, and your colourist will take you to the perfect shade using this as a guideline.

Fashion Colour
If you are looking for a dramatic change, it will require several stages to get you to the perfect colour. Our priority is not only to help you achieve the right colour, but also to ensure that the condition of the hair is not compromised. Your colourist will speak to you about the several stages required, as every colour transformation will vary, but this is designed as a guide to how our colour transformation is broken down.
COLOUR PREPARATION
If you are taking your hair darker, additional pigments may need to be added in a pre-colouring process. If your hair is being taken lighter, colour cleansing or pre-lightening processes may be required, and these may need to be carried out several times depending on the level of change you are looking to achieve.

When transforming your hair colour, the hair is often taken through several stages of colouring before the final result is achieved. Initially, colour may fade slightly quicker due to the colouring process altering the cuticle of the hair, which can make it prone to losing colour pigments. For this reason, we recommend that you book a follow up appointment for a colour refresh four weeks after your colour transformation.
Colour blending is designed to gently eliminate the dark shadow and refresh highlighted hair, extending the life of your colour for another three to four weeks flawlessly. We recommend this service up to four weeks after your initial colour service for the desired result.
